Services
Willhoit Construction offers a focused set of services for owners and architects building, restoring, and stewarding high-end custom homes in coastal Orange County. We engage on whole-home remodels and new construction; the scale and complexity of those projects are what allow our process to be fully expressed.
-
We engage early, often before drawings are complete. Our pre-construction work pairs detailed estimating with constructability reviews, value engineering, and procurement planning for long-lead materials. The goal is to surface risk while it can still be priced, and to identify, line by line, where the unknowns in the project will live before they become problems on a job site. At the close of pre-construction, the owner will receive a cost framework, a project schedule, an allowance schedule for items that cannot be fully scoped in advance, and the contracting fee for the build.
-
The heart of the Willhoit Construction. Each project runs on weekly cost reviews, daily site documentation, and direct, unfiltered communication. Taylor leads every project in the field from the first day of work to the final walkthrough. Invoices are itemized to the line, and the contracting fee, set at the close of pre-construction, is held for the duration of the project.

Aftercare is offered to every client whose home we build. Warranty service through the California contractor warranty period is provided at no additional cost — we return for the eleven-month walkthrough, address punch items personally, and remain reachable for any warranty matter that comes up during that window.
Routine maintenance, however, is the homeowner's responsibility, even during the warranty period. For clients who would like us to handle it, we offer an annual maintenance program by invitation, as well as on-call service on an hourly basis, billed monthly.
Larger maintenance projects, system replacements, finish refreshes, additions, are scoped and quoted individually.
-
Not every project we touch is one we build. When an owner wants Willhoit Construction’s experience on a project that is being built by another contractor — for oversight, quality assurance, cost review, or coordination with the design team — we can engage as the owner's representative. The role is focused: we work on behalf of the owner, attend meetings, review billing, walk the site, and surface concerns the owner might not catch on their own.

We provide construction consulting for owners, architects, designers, and developers who need experienced input outside of a full general contracting engagement. This includes pre-purchase site evaluations, third-party cost estimating, construction monitoring, and construction defect reviews. Engagements are scoped to the question being asked.
