About Willhoit Construction

Willhoit Construction builds and renovates highly detailed custom homes throughout Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, and the surrounding coastal communities of Southern California. We work with clients who value thoughtful planning, strong design, and a high level of execution, often on projects that involve complex sites, technically demanding construction, and significant architectural detail.

Our pre-construction process is designed to create clarity early, aligning budget, design, selections, and construction strategy before work begins in the field. By coordinating closely with architects, designers, consultants, and trades from the outset, we help reduce uncertainty, minimize costly changes during construction, and create a more organized and predictable building experience for everyone involved.

We’ve built our systems around proactive communication, real-time collaboration, and detailed project oversight, allowing our team to manage complex projects with a higher level of precision and accountability. By taking on a limited number of projects each year, we’re able to stay fully engaged throughout the process and maintain the level of attention required to execute homes at this level. Our goal is simple: deliver exceptional homes through a process that feels clear, well-managed, and thoughtfully executed from beginning to end.

In custom residential construction, there is constant balance between design, timeline, and cost, particularly on highly detailed and technically complex homes. We also believe transparency is essential to a well-managed project. From pre-construction through completion, we maintain clear communication around budgeting, allowances, variances, and project costs so clients always have an accurate understanding of where the project stands. Our goal is to create a process that feels organized, collaborative, and fully aligned from beginning to end.

Taylor Willhoit

Taylor oversees the construction and execution side of Willhoit Construction, bringing years of hands-on experience in custom residential building, project management, and complex problem solving. Known for his attention to detail and deep understanding of the construction process, he is closely involved in the day-to-day oversight of each project, ensuring the work is executed to the highest standard from planning through completion. His experience spans technically demanding new construction, large-scale renovations, hillside projects, and highly detailed custom homes throughout coastal Southern California.

Kaitlin Willhoit

Kaitlin oversees client experience, project coordination, and business operations at Willhoit Construction. Working closely with clients, architects, designers, and consultants throughout the process, she helps maintain organization, communication, and alignment from early planning through construction. With a background in real estate and luxury residential construction, Kaitlin brings a strong understanding of both the design and client side of the building process, helping create an experience that feels thoughtful, collaborative, and well-managed from start to finish.
