About Willhoit Construction

Willhoit Construction is a custom home builder based in Laguna Beach, building and remodeling homes across coastal Orange County. Founded by Taylor and Kaitlin Willhoit, a husband-and-wife team who lead the firm directly. Taylor is the main point of contact on every project we accept, and he is on site daily through the life of the build. The decision to keep the firm small is what allows that level of involvement to remain consistent, which is why we accept only three to four projects each year.

What We Believe

We hold three priorities in a deliberate order: quality first, then timeline, then budget. On a custom build, the three are always in some degree of tension. We tell our clients which way we will resolve that tension, before construction begins, and we resolve it the same way every time. The work has to be right first.

We also believe that transparency is the foundation of every good project, not as a value statement, but as a working method. We publish our fee structure. We surface variances the moment they appear. We itemize every invoice to the line. The goal is for the homeowner to know as much about the project's financial state as we do, at every point in its life.
